How to list your SaaS on GetApp and Software Advice
In this article
GetApp and Software Advice are two software catalogues that sit beside Capterra. Since February 2026 all three belong to G2, and one G2 seller login manages G2, Capterra, Software Advice and GetApp. A free listing on each is worth having if your customers compare software in a category. Most of the work is copying one accurate profile across, then keeping it in step with your site.
- G2 bought Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice from Gartner. The deal was announced on 29 January 2026 and closed on 5 February 2026, according to G2's press release.
- The basic listing is free on both sites. Sponsored placements are sold per click or per lead, and the rates are not published.
- GetApp lists B2B software that fits one of its categories, and its catalogue team checks your website before a profile goes live.
- Reviews follow strict rules: an incentive must be offered to every reviewer whatever their rating, and bought or bulk reviews are forbidden.

What GetApp and Software Advice are
GetApp and Software Advice are business software directories. Each product gets a profile with the vendor name and logo, a product name and description, screenshots, and reviews from verified users. GetApp is built for browsing and comparing by category. Software Advice adds advisory content and ranked lists of tools for a job. Live profiles sit at addresses such as getapp.com/your-category/a/your-product/ and softwareadvice.com/your-category/your-product-profile/. Reviews appear across the three sister sites, according to SaaSCity's write-up of 7 October 2026.
Who actually reads it
People reach these sites late in a decision. They have a job to do and a shortlist forming, and they want to compare features, pricing and what other users say before they book a demo or start a trial. Software Advice builds its "Best for" lists from verified ratings, information requests, search trends and its own vendor research, and states that sponsorship has no influence on them. Its FrontRunners report needs at least 20 unique reviews from the last 24 months before a product qualifies. For a young product, the value is a complete, accurate profile in the right category that people find when they search it.

Create or claim the profile
- Search GetApp, Software Advice and Capterra for your product first. If a profile exists, claim it rather than starting a duplicate.
- Start from the vendor entry at capterra.com/vendors. Capterra's "Get your product listed" button now opens G2's product form, and the same G2 seller login then manages all four sites, according to SaaSCity. GetApp's and Software Advice's own vendor pages could not be read when this guide was written, so confirm the route on the form on the day.
- Pick the category that matches the job your product does, the way a customer would search for it. GetApp accepts software only, and only where it fits one of its categories.
- Expect a check before publication. GetApp's catalogue team looks at the vendor website, and the final profile copy is at the content team's discretion.
Match your own site exactly
- Use the product name exactly as your homepage writes it, with the same spelling and capitals.
- Reuse your homepage one-liner in the description. Software Advice's listing guidelines (the version of 4 May 2026) ask for text with no line breaks, symbols or HTML, so strip the formatting before you paste.
- Upload screenshots of the real interface. The guidelines require them to show the actual product.
- If you add a video, it must be in English and hosted on YouTube, Vimeo or Wistia.
The consistency rules
Treat Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice as one listing shown in three places. The product name, the one-line description, the category and the pricing model should read the same on each, and the same as your homepage. When you change one, change all three in the same pass. Someone who checks two of the sites should find one product, described one way.
Common mistakes
- Offering a gift card only to customers likely to leave five stars. GetApp's community guidelines allow a nominal incentive only when every reviewer is offered it, whatever rating they give.
- Asking staff, friends or anyone tied to a competitor for a review. Those reviewers are barred from incentives entirely.
- Buying reviews from a bulk or unverified review service, which the guidelines forbid outright.
- Pasting formatted copy with bullets and symbols into fields that take plain text.
- Updating Capterra and forgetting the two sister profiles.
How to keep the listing alive
Revisit the profiles when your positioning, pricing or interface changes, and replace screenshots that no longer match the product. Ask happy customers for reviews steadily rather than in one burst, and make any incentive open to everyone. GetApp marks incentivised reviews with a Reviewer Source icon, which is fine as long as you followed the rule. Answer reviews, critical ones included, in plain and specific language.
The sister listing with the biggest audience: how to list your SaaS on Capterra →Is a GetApp or Software Advice listing free?
Yes. The basic listing is free on both. The paid options are sponsored placements sold per click or per lead, and the rates are not published.
Do I need separate accounts for GetApp, Software Advice and Capterra?
No. Since G2 bought the three sites in February 2026, one G2 seller login manages G2, Capterra, Software Advice and GetApp, according to SaaSCity (7 October 2026). Confirm it on the form, because the official vendor pages could not be read when this guide was written.
Can I offer customers a reward for leaving a review?
Only a nominal one, and only if every reviewer gets the same offer whatever rating they give. People tied to your company or to a competitor cannot be offered one at all, and incentivised reviews are labelled.
How many reviews do I need for Software Advice FrontRunners?
At least 20 unique reviews from the last 24 months, according to the FrontRunners methodology page on softwareadvice.com, read on 28 October 2026.
