Keyword.com MCP vs AfterLaunch for AI visibility

If you want one MCP server that covers both SEO and AI search visibility, Keyword.com is one of the few that does both under one sign-in: its rank tracker and its AI Visibility tracker sit behind the same connection, free on every plan. SE Ranking does the same with a bigger SEO toolkit. DataForSEO, Ahrefs and Semrush give your AI raw SEO data. Peec AI and LLM Pulse are AI visibility only. AfterLaunch is the agentic growth engine: it watches AI visibility, SEO, competitors and channels together and ranks the next growth move, with its evidence and a working draft.

Everything below was read off each vendor's own MCP and pricing pages on 27 October 2026, unless a line gives another date.

Key takeaways
  • Keyword.com's MCP server lists over 60 tools, reads and writes, and is free with every Keyword.com plan, including the 14-day trial, with no add-on fee and no usage cap.
  • Keyword.com's cheapest plan with AI visibility tracking built in is AI Visibility, from $9.80 a month or $7.83 billed annually. Rank tracking alone starts at $4 a month.
  • When we asked the AI engines for an MCP server for SEO and AI search visibility, two of them cited Keyword.com's own roundup of SEO MCP servers. None named AfterLaunch.
  • A tracker's MCP hands your AI the data. AfterLaunch's hands it the ranked next move with a draft attached.

What Keyword.com's MCP server does

Keyword.com started as a rank tracker and now tracks AI answers too. Its MCP page lists "Over 60 tools, ready to use" across projects, keywords, SERP performance, AI Visibility, alerts and sharing, and it reads and writes: "Pull data and act on it." It names ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor as clients, plus any other MCP client, and you sign in through your browser with OAuth.

Its AI Visibility tracking covers ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot. API models such as Claude, Perplexity Sonar, DeepSeek and Grok can be added at a higher credit cost per run.

Keyword.com planPrice on its page, 27 Oct 2026What it includes
Search Visibility$4 a month, or $3 a month billed annuallyRank tracking from 50 keywords. AI Visibility only as an add-on
AI Visibility$9.80 a month, or $7.83 a month billed annuallyFrom 20 credits a month for AI answer tracking, with competitors, citations, sentiment and prompt research
360° Visibility$33 a month, or $26 a month billed annually1,000 keywords and 15 AI Visibility credits, rising in steps to 10,000 keywords and 250 credits
CustomFrom $490 a monthUnlimited keywords and credits, by sales

Credits are the thing to count. One run of one prompt on a chat app such as ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews costs 0.25 credit, and one run on an API model costs 1 credit. Twenty prompts checked weekly on two chat apps is about 43 credits a month, so price the plan from your prompt list rather than from the headline number. The free trial runs 14 days with 100 keywords and 20 credits, and needs no card.

What the engines named on 23 October 2026

Our own AI visibility scan asked "MCP server for SEO and AI search visibility" five times on each engine. The table lists what one stored answer per engine named, in its own order. An engine can answer differently the next time, so read it as what a customer saw that day.

EngineMCP servers it named
ChatGPTFirecrawl, google-seo-mcp, DataForSEO, SE Ranking, Exa. It cited Keyword.com's roundup of SEO MCP servers for two of them
GeminiGoogle Search Console, Google Analytics, OpenSEO, DataForSEO, Answer Socrates, Screaming Frog, LLM Pulse
Google AI OverviewsAhrefs, SE Ranking, DataForSEO, Zero Rank, WP Engine Smart Search, an open-source seo-mcp
PerplexitySE Ranking, Nightwatch, Semrush, Ahrefs, Peec AI, Semantica AI. Keyword.com's roundup was among its sources

DataForSEO and SE Ranking came up most often. AfterLaunch wasn't named in any answer, and Keyword.com's own MCP server wasn't either: what the engines took from Keyword.com was its article about everyone else's. The engines cite that roundup because it names every rival for the question, and this page names them for the same reason.

Keyword.com is far cheaper, and if what you want is your rankings and your AI mentions on one bill, in your AI's hands, it does that well. AfterLaunch costs more because it does more after the measurement: it keeps the history of how your product gets found, decides what to do next, and arrives with the work, which you or your AI finish. Nothing goes out in your name until you say yes.

Which one to choose

  • If you track keyword positions and want AI mentions beside them for a few dollars a month, choose Keyword.com.
  • If you want the widest SEO toolkit behind one connection, choose SE Ranking, or Ahrefs or Semrush if you already pay for one.
  • If you are building your own agent and want raw data at cost, choose DataForSEO.
  • If AI answers are all you need to watch, Peec AI and LLM Pulse are built for that alone.
  • If you are the founder and the marketing team, and the gap is deciding and doing rather than measuring, choose AfterLaunch.
