Schema checker: is your structured data complete?
A free schema checker and structured data test. Enter a page and AfterLaunch reads every JSON-LD block on it, names the types it declares and lists what Google asks for that is missing.
Free, no signupNo markup yet? The schema markup generator writes it from a short form.
What the schema checker reads
Every JSON-LD block on the page you enter: the script tags with type application/ld+json that describe the page to search engines.
A block that is not valid JSON is skipped whole by Google, so it is the first thing the check reports, with the parser's own message.
Each type it finds is named. For an Organization, SoftwareApplication, Product, Offer, Article, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, Event, Review or LocalBusiness, it lists the properties Google's structured data documentation requires and recommends that the block leaves out.
Schema checker or structured data test
They are the same job. Google retired its Structured Data Testing Tool in 2021: the Schema Markup Validator at schema.org took over general validation, and Google's Rich Results Test checks whether a page can show a rich result.
This check sits between the two. It reads the page the way a crawler does, with no browser, so it sees the markup your server sends, and it says in plain words what each type is missing.
How to fix what it finds
Add the missing property inside the type it belongs to, with a value the page itself shows: a price that is on the page, a logo that is on the site.
If the page has no structured data at all, start with what the page is: an Organization on the home page, a SoftwareApplication or Product on a product page. The free schema markup generator writes either from a short form.
Common questions
Does it run JavaScript?
No. It reads the HTML the server sends, which is what most crawlers read first. Markup that only appears after JavaScript runs is not seen here.
Will passing this check get me rich results?
No check can promise that. Google decides whether to show a rich result. Valid markup with the properties it asks for is what makes a page eligible.
Is it safe to run on any site?
Yes. It makes one plain request for the page you enter and changes nothing.
