Otterly alternatives for founders who want more than tracking

Otterly.ai is a good AI search monitor at a fair price, and plenty of founders should simply buy it. This page is for the ones who already know where they stand and want something more: help with the fixes, help with the writing, or a view past AI answers to the rest of how people find software. The alternatives below are grouped by that job, with prices read off each vendor's own pricing page on 8 October 2026.

Key takeaways
  • Otterly's plans run from $29 to $489 a month for 15 to 400 tracked prompts, across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, with Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini as add-ons.
  • If you want fixes, Scrunch adds site audits and Otterly itself sends recommendations. If you want writing, Frase drafts and publishes to your CMS, and Profound and AthenaHQ draft or rework content.
  • If the gap sits outside AI answers, in search, communities or directories, a monitor will not see it. AfterLaunch is built for that case.
  • Choose by the work you are short of.

What Otterly does, and what it leaves to you

Otterly tracks how often your brand appears in AI answers for the prompts you choose. On 8 October 2026 its pricing page listed Lite at $29 a month for 15 search prompts, Standard at $189 for 100 and Premium at $489 for 400, with a lower price for annual billing and Enterprise from 1,000 prompts. Every plan tracks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, and sells Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini as add-ons. Lite includes 3 recommendations a week, and the larger plans include unlimited recommendations.

What it leaves to you is the work the recommendations point at: rewriting a page, answering a thread, getting a listing right. For a team with a marketer, that is the right split. For a founder who is also the marketing team, the list of recommendations is where things tend to stall.

The alternatives, by the work you want done

If you want help with the fixes

Scrunch pairs monitoring with site audits. Its entry plan, Core, was listed at $250 a month for 125 unique prompts and 5 site audits a month, described as a plan for teams establishing AI visibility benchmarks. Semrush is the other route if you already pay for it: its AI Visibility plan was $99 a month per domain, billed annually, with 25 custom prompts. Scrunch's audits point at what to change on a page, and the change itself is still yours to make.

If you want help with the writing

Frase is the most direct answer here. Its pricing page lists Starter at $49 a month, or $39 a month billed yearly, Professional at $129 and Scale at $299, and describes drafting with your brand in context and pushing each piece to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity or Wix in a click. Frase is also clear about the limit: its AI visibility tracking does not auto-fix anything, so the writing is a separate step you start.

Profound has moved the same way. Its homepage describes an AI marketer that identifies the work worth doing, drafts it and asks for your approval. It no longer lists self-serve prices: the pricing page offers a free trial that runs 50 prompts daily for 7 days, and Enterprise on request. AthenaHQ lists a free tier with $25 of credit and Starter at $295 a month, which includes a content optimisation agent and on-page and off-page actions.

If the gap sits outside AI answers

Every tool above watches the AI answer. That answer is assembled from search results, community threads, comparison pages and directory listings, and a young product is often missing from those before it is missing from the answer. In our cohort study, young Y Combinator companies were named in 6.4% of usable AI search answers, against 36.7% for YC's graduated companies. If that is your position, more precise tracking of a low number tells you little about what to do next.

AfterLaunch is the agentic growth engine. It scans the leading AI search engines alongside traditional search, communities and directories, ranks the move that matters most into a Board, and briefs each one with its evidence and a working draft in your voice. You or your AI finish it, and you approve what ships, because it never posts on its own. There is a free scan with no card, a 14-day trial, then $149 a month. If deep prompt-level reporting is the main thing you need, a dedicated monitor is the better fit.

How to choose

  • Name the work you are short of. If it is knowing where you stand, Otterly is enough. If it is fixes, look at Scrunch. If it is writing, look at Frase. If it is deciding what to do across every channel, look at AfterLaunch.
  • Count the prompts you actually need. One product with five competitors rarely needs 400 tracked prompts.
  • Ask what happens after the alert. Ask each vendor who writes the page, answers the thread or fixes the listing.
  • Try before you pay. Otterly, Frase, AthenaHQ and Profound all offer a trial or a free tier, and the AfterLaunch scan is free with no card.

What is the best Otterly alternative for a SaaS founder?

It depends on the work you want beyond tracking. For page fixes, Scrunch adds site audits from $250 a month. For writing, Frase drafts and publishes to your CMS from $49 a month. For deciding and briefing the next move across AI search, traditional search, communities and directories, AfterLaunch is $149 a month after a free scan. Prices as listed on 8 October 2026.

How much does Otterly cost?

On 8 October 2026 Otterly listed Lite at $29 a month for 15 search prompts, Standard at $189 for 100 and Premium at $489 for 400, with Enterprise from 1,000 prompts on request and a lower price for annual billing. Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini are paid add-ons.

Does Otterly write content?

Its pricing page describes tracking, prompt research and recommendations rather than writing. Acting on the recommendations, whether that is rewriting a page or answering a thread, is left to you.

Which alternatives write content as well as tracking it?

Of the tools on this page, Frase drafts and publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity or Wix. Profound describes an AI marketer that drafts work for your approval. AthenaHQ includes a content optimisation agent. AfterLaunch briefs each move with a working draft in your voice for you or your AI to finish.

Is AfterLaunch an Otterly alternative?

Partly. Both read how AI search engines answer questions about your category. AfterLaunch also watches traditional search, communities and directories, ranks the next move and drafts it. If all you want is a precise read on AI answers, Otterly is the simpler choice.
